Thanksgiving weekend (Friday-Sunday) each year.  Fun for the whole family!

  • 24+ educational exhibits of gems, specimens, fossils, and lapidary art.

  • 29+ dealers presenting gems, jewelry, minerals, fossils, and more for sale. Gifts galore!

  • Live demonstrations of lapidary arts, featuring cabbing, wire wrapping, and faceting by club members.

  • Gem Sluice: Purchase a bag and get wet sifting to find beautiful crystals and gems.

  • Geode cracking. Purchase a geode and crack it open to see beautiful crystals inside.

  • Junior Rockhounds display.

  • Amazing Fluorescent Mineral Display.

  • Door prizes are awarded. (Must be present to win.)

  • Raffle ticket prize drawings ($2.00 per chance) to win the big prize. (You do NOT need to be present to win.)

  • Stop by the membership booth where you can join the Mobile Rock & Gem Society.

  • Free parking.

  • Food vendor on site.

Hours:

  • Nov. 27, Friday 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm,

  • Nov. 28, Saturday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm,

  • Nov. 29, Sunday 10:00 am-5:00 pm.

Admission Fee:

Admission is $8.00 per day in 2025. Children under 12 are FREE with a paying adult.

A 3-day 2026 Pass will be available for purchase in November 2026. It is good for one individual for all three days of the event.

The door admission supports the programs of the Mobile Rock and Gem Society including: scholarships for geology students at the University of South Alabama, Future Rockhounds of America - an educational program for children and youth, public outreach activities, and educational activities of the club. Membership for the club is for people interested in learning more about Earth science, geology, mineralogy, and the lapidary arts.
