A. stimulate interest in the earth sciences including lapidary arts, mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, geology, and other related fields and to encourage the study therein.
B. sponsor an educational program to increase the knowledge of members and the general public regarding the properties, identification and evaluation of rocks, minerals, fossils and other related subjects by holding monthly meetings with lectures by qualified experts or lapidary-related demonstrations.
C. sponsor field trips to collect and study various kinds of rocks, fossils, and minerals.
D. publish a monthly bulletin containing educational material pertaining to lapidary arts, mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, geology, and other related fields.
E. maintain a library of reference materials on lapidary arts, mineralogy, petrology, paleontology, geology, and other related fields
F. display gems, fossils, mineral and lapidary specimens at the Mobile Museum of Art, Greater Gulf States Fair, area universities and other venues when invited.
G. conduct an annual show for the general public at a nominal fee where members and nonmembers demonstrate lapidary techniques and display collections of gems, fossils, and minerals.
H. conduct an annual Gem-O-Rama where members and nonmembers may swap, trade sell, purchase or observe gem, fossil, and mineral specimens and other related material.
